It's no secret that I like a challenge. Some (my husband) may say that I'm competitive to a fault. I like to rationalize this "character flaw" (whatever) by telling myself that it's not just others that I'm competitive with, but myself was well. I also like a great deal (who doesn't?), so I decided to combine these two "passions" of mine (can you tell that my quotation marks are sarcastic in this post?) and create a top to bottom office look for under $350!
Seriously, though, this is something that I think we all do when decorating our home. I LOVE putting together a room on a shoestring budget. All of my clients have a budget that I have to stick to, and once most of that budget gets used on larger purchases or other rooms, I have to get creative with what's left! It's also incredibly satisfying to pull a room together on just a little bit of money.
Here is the office that I've created for less than $350! All you need is a pencil and some paper (and maybe your computer. I would be a genius if I could do this room for less than $350 WITH a computer. Ir probably wouldn't be by legal means, I'm just sayin').
1. Target sunburst mirror, $32.99
2. Coral Pillow Cover, $15
3. Ikea sheepskin, $9.99
4. Ikea MARMORBLAD curtains, $14.99
5. Ikea VARUM flatwoven rug, $59.99
6. Ikea ALMSTAD rattan chair, $99 (love this!)
7. Ikea wall shelf, $17.99
8. Target gourd lamp (with shade!), $32.99
9. Ikea VIKA AMON desk (with legs), $55
10. Etsy printable art, $10
Not too bad for an entire office, huh? I would hack this Ikea desk like I did but with coral legs instead of gold. I also love the giclee printable painting that looks like a million bucks! The Ikea sheepskin rug is a staple around my house, and it $9.99 well spent. Those curtains are a great price, and not bad looking in person, either! Just the perfect amount of sheer to allow lots of sunlight in without being see-through. Admittedly, there are a lot of items from Target and Ikea on here, but when you're on a strict budget, these stores are my go-to for (certain) quality items for a great price.
So there you have it! I'll be back next week with an inexpensive foyer update!
